Zancos (stilt) Therapy Volunteering

Welcome to the village of Yaxunah. I had the most amazing opportunity to work with Mexico's leading Stilt Walker, Peyrak Herrera, while he trained the less fortunate children of a small indigenous Mayan community in the heart of Yucatán, only 20 miles away from the archeological site of Chichén Itzá. In Maya "Ya’ax" means Green and "nah" means house. Please read my blog to see more about this amazing experience. In Spanish, stilts are called 'zancos' and these children's lives were changed within a few weeks from learning this skill!
